Development of the Maumere Consumer Price Index May 2024

Abstract

In May 2024, Maumere's year on year (y-on-y) inflation will be 2.25 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.56.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in 7 of the 11 expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.69 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 1.18 percent; health group at 0.89 percent; transportation group at 4.12 percent; education group by 1.15 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 3.88 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 1.42 percent.

In May 2024, Maumere experienced month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation of 0.21 percent. The year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Maumere in May 2024 is 0.16 percent.
