Abstract

In December 2023, Maumere experienced inflation of 0.61 percent with a Consumer Price Index (IHK) of 117.32 (base year 2018=100), a calendar year inflation rate (year to date/ ytd) of 3.33 percent and a year-on-year inflation rate ( December 2023 to December 2023) of 3.33 percent.

December 2023, the combination of 3 Inflation Cities in East Nusa Tenggara will experience MtM Inflation of 0.39 percent with a CPI of 115.53. Kupang City experienced MtM Inflation of 0.37 percent, Maumere City experienced MtM Inflation of 0.61 percent and Waingapu City experienced MtM Inflation of 0.31 percent.

Inflation in December 2023 in Maumere City occurred due to an increase in the price index in 6 of the 11 expenditure groups. The expenditure groups that experienced the largest increase in the price index were food, beverages and tobacco and personal care and other services, 1.11 percent each.

In December 2023, of the 90 National CPI sample cities, 85 cities experienced MtM inflation and 5 cities experienced MtM deflation. The city that experienced the highest MtM inflation was Ternate City at 1.64 percent, while the lowest MtM inflation occurred in Bandar Lampung City at 0.02 percent. The city that experienced the highest MtM deflation was Meulaboh City at 0.67 percent, while the lowest MtM deflation occurred in Dumai City at 0.03 percent.
