In accordance with the mandate of the law, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) plays a leading role in statistical development. In the context of development, villages are no longer seen merely as objects but as subjects and key drivers in efforts to improve community welfare.
The Desa Cinta Statistik (Desa Cantik) program is designed to enhance statistical literacy, awareness, and the active participation of village officials and the community in statistical activities.
Lepolima Village was selected as the implementation site for Desa Cantik in Sikka Regency due to its strong potential to succeed as an independent village. The success of this program in Lepolima is expected to serve as a prototype that can be replicated in other villages throughout Sikka Regency.
The launching event was held and attended by the Regent of Sikka, several department heads, subdistrict secretaries, village officials, and local residents. The event began with a socialization session, followed by the official launch, and concluded with a training session for Desa Cantik agents, village officials, and the community on statistical implementation and the application of the Generic Statistical Business Process Model (GSBPM).
