Provision of Aid for Victims of the Eruption of Mount Lewotobi in Sikka Regency

Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki in East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), erupted on Monday (04/11) and until today (14/11) is still spewing volcanic ash. The impact of this eruption reached Sikka Regency, forcing residents of Talibura District to evacuate to Waigete District.

In response to the disaster, BPS throughout NTT Province through BPS Sikka Regency distributed social assistance in the form of mineral water, clothing, and food to the Waigete Post to be distributed to affected residents. The Waigete Post, located in Egon Village, Waigete District, is currently accommodating refugees from three villages, namely Hikong, Kringa, and Timu Tawa Villages.

It is hoped that this assistance can ease the burden on the victims and provide support in the post-eruption recovery process.
